The Industry Collection of Gold Bars Worldwide is the outcome of a collaborative effort by more than 80 manufacturers and issuing entities around the globe.

It is the world’s largest collection of gold bars and currently comprises more than 700 bars from 29 countries.

GIR - the Curator - established the collection in 1993 with the support of the World Gold Council as Sponsor and
N M Rothschild & Sons (Australia) Limited as the Custodian and Owner on behalf of the industry.

Many manufacturers have gone to enormous trouble to manufacture a sample bar of their entire standard range (as they are often only made to order in bulk quantities).  Others have produced innovative and unusual bars especially for the collection.

The collection has also acquired, for use at Exhibitions, examples of nuggets, gold bearing ore, gold bullion coins and industrial gold products, as well as small items of bar manufacturing equipment.

For further information on the contents of the collection, reference should be made to  International Gold Exhibitions and the Table of Contents of The Industry Catalogue of Gold Bars Worldwide.
